70 acres of New Zealand Paradise

Our farm in the Maramarua Forest area is conveniently located near main transport links. An hours drive to the cities of Hamilton and Auckland and less than that to the towns of Thames, Pukekohe, Te Kauwhata and Paeroa.

We have isolation paddocks directly in front of our home where we can keep a close eye on visiting alpacas. The main barn and handling yards are easily accessed too.

We have three sets of handling yards. The main one, used for our export alpacas, is situated at the main barn. It has permanent weigh scales, a secure treatment pen and a warm undercover area if we need to give special attention to a sick animal. We have a second set of yards with a treatment pen that can be used when we need to keep alpacas with a different health status separated. Thirdly we have our big cattle yards, they are quite serviceable for the alpacas and are often used when loading out onto a larger transport truck.

The quarantine yards surrounding the barn are all very secure and are used for export alpaca on arrival and just before departure.

We are a sheltered property, in a valley with many acres of forest all around. We have trees for shade and are in the process of adding some paddock shelters.

The main barn is quite new and has great facilities for visiting veterinarians. Easy access, bathroom, office and an undercover work area.

We maintain computerised records for all alpacas using Alpaca Manager. Export alpacas are entered into the system just like our own herd. This enables us to generate worksheets and customer reports for every detail of our health and husbandry checks or any medical treatment.
